10 Celebrities Who Had Near-Death Experiences

Near-death experiences are not just accidents, Everyday, one accident or the other happens to people. For some, it ends up as an injury but for some others, unfortunately, it is fatal. Death is a natural phenomenon in life, and yes, some individuals have a higher chance at surviving accidents, but death? Eventually, everyone will go. And talking about accidents, no one is immune to it, even the most popular or powerful. No one.

Sure, they might be rich enough to pay for hospital bills for as long as possible when ill, but in the end, those who still can’t survive,  won’t. Although, that is not always the case for everyone, because  they have been cases of a lot of people who have died way before their time, way too early.

Here are some celebrities who have had near-death experiences at some point in their lives:

1. Martin Lawrence

In the year 1999, It was reported that Martin Lawrence, the well-known comedian, slipped into a coma that was caused by a heat stroke which he suffered while exercising. During a very hot day, he wore a lot of clothes, building up layers, which in turn heated his system up. Later on, it was discovered that the work out he had been doing was to lose weight for a movie.

2. Rachel Bilson

The popular actress suffered from a very tragic car accident when she was just fourteen years of age. Coming back from somewhere, the car had tumbled with her and some other people in it. Thankfully, she recovered from the impact, but it ended up causing a very long-lasting intense headache, which she still suffers till date.

3. Jason Statham

One of Hollywood’s toughest actors could have died in the process of creating one of the best movies ever. In the shooting of ‘The Expendables 3’, one of the truck’s brakes failed, and just moments before it went crashing into the sea, he jumped out.

4. Ellie Goulding

Everyone loves Ellie. Losing her would have caused some serious shock waves. That almost happened when the ice on the lake over which she drove cracked. Thankfully, she is still with us as hers was one of the frightening near-death experiences.

5. 50 Cent

World famous rapper and actor, 50 Cent was hit by nine bullets at the once during a shoot-out. Some of the areas from which the bullets were removed include his face, chest, and some other body parts.  It remains a miracle that he survived that. As far as near-death experiences go, this ranks at the top.

6. George Lucas

George Lucas lived life freely as a young boy; Going to school and having the most fun with people. 3 days before Lucas graduated high school, he had a terrible car accident that forever changed his life, and led him to his life’s goal.

7. Ryan Reynolds

The actor i known to have a morbid fear of heights. This fear stems from a past skydiving experience in which his parachute failed to open up. He was diving straight for the ground to his death, until the reserve control worked.

It’s scary to think about what could have happened. His quality acting, which we enjoy now, would have only been a dream.

The star of the ‘Games of Thrones’ series was at death’s door shortly after the completion of the very first season, when after two intense brain aneurysms, she was required to perform surgery, in 2011. Luckily, she became better, and is now living a more healthy life.

9. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp, during the filming of ‘Lone Ranger’, fell off his horse, and found himself directly under the horse’s hooves. Luckily, he somehow managed to roll away, saving his life.

10. Drew Barrymore

In a 2017 interview, Drew Barrymore disclosed that she almost mistakenly died while shooting the ‘Santa Clarita Diet’. A scene had required her to jump onto a man’s back, but while attempting to do so, she fell and hit her head hard on the concrete floor. When asked in what way the experience affected her, she revealed that she was traumatized by the experience for the longest time, because she could have died.

Thankfully, the medics arrived early enough to the set, and transported her to a hospital, close by. For days, she had to undergo tests and scans to ensure that all was well with her.
