Flight attendant experiences remind us of the fun, excitement and adventure that comes with the job. Many have at some point entertained the thought of being a flight attendant. Who knows? Some of you reading this might even be flight attendants, ha-ha. Being one can actually be quite the fun ride, but then, it is also adventure-filled job, in the sense that every day, any day, on each flight, an attendant has no idea what would happen, who they would encounter, anything at all. They basically just go on with their activities, and some of the most unexpected events happens!
Let’s see some of them:
1. The Couple
Terrified, a once settled couple ran to complain to one of the flight attendants on board. Something very weird had happened back at their seat. A not-so-young woman was doing the most private thing in public. You’d never see the next sentence coming. She was changing her menstrual pad. Right there on the plane, without minding anybody.
2. Flavor Flav On Duty
Celebrity Flavor Flav, while on board, can also be called a flight attendant! Why? Well, because he does the work of an on-air personnel, going around to ask if everyone is doing alright and is comfortable, also making sure to take care of issues a passenger might be encountering. Hardly on his seat during flights, Flavor Flav tries to keep everyone company.
3. One from the Team
A Rubgy team taking a flight to Australia rented the first class cabin of the airplane.
Waiting until the flight commenced, every member of the team removed their clothes, and remained only in their briefs, in the airplane! Imagine the shock on the flight attendants face when they came to serve them snacks.
4. Mistaking the Plane For a Spa
It is really possible that some people think buying their plane ticket gives them access to certain things other than a safe and enjoyable flight. There have been cases of passengers asking for neck rubs, and back massages from flight attendants. First of all, that is against protocol. The only time a flight attendant is to have that much contact with a passenger is during CPR.
5. Smoking
Smokers, for the sake of others, are generally advised to smoke in a place with very few people, or none at all, so they would not be exposed to it. But, imagine the surprise of an air attendant when a passenger lit up a drug pipe, without the slightest care for anyone, and worst of all? In a cabin full of people with all sorts of allergies. Terrible manners.
6. Complimentary Item
Seeing that the airplane service was giving out complimentary items, a man asked for a pad he saw was being given to a women. Of course, the flight attendant gave him, then he did the weirdest thing. Ripping off the paper, he attached the sticky part to his eyes. Yes, that really happened.
7. Wrong Info
One time, during a flight of approximately 12 hours, a pilot over the intercom, said to the passengers, “Prepare for take off!”. It must have been really confusing, because they were right in the middle of a flight.
8. Taking a Little Stretch
More than once, some passengers who decided it was fitting to do their home activities right on the plane, started working out and even doing Yoga, to, in their words, “Stretch”. Really? Of course, they were sent right back to their seats.
9. Body Activities
Yes, being hygienic is good and fine, but not at the expense of others. A lot of times, passengers bring their pedicure or manicure tools inside the plane, to take care of their needs. It’s obviously not safe, and can affect a lot of people, and infect edibles. The bathroom is there, for activities like that.
10. Flashing
This is one of the most unpleasant things one could ever do. Some passengers flash their private parts to air hostesses, intentionally, often times, with hopes of getting their attention. It does quite the opposite, actually. You distract them, and gross out their day, because who asked for that? On a very large scale, it causes the attendant to underperform. If you do that, or have done it, you should have thought of that.
